About Us
Finally B.C. has its' own Icelandic Horse Association
The B.C. Icelandic Horse Association held its first meeting in Vernon on April 6, 2003; members spread over all of B.C joined via phone.
Since Canada is such a huge country, we felt that forming an Association just for B.C. was necessary to keep travel times manageable. Ontario had the same idea a while ago and has great success with it.
The B.C. IHA will have different events happening throughout the year, like competitions, clinics, and trail rides for example, and we also plan for a lot more to happen in the future. The B.C. IHA will support its members in all questions of Icelandic Horsemanship. Our focus is on serious Icelandic competitions and having a lot of fun together and with the horses. At founding, the B.C. IHA was representing 180 horses and we are growing fast.
We are proud to already have several breeders in the Association and are looking forward to gaining more Icelandic Horse owners and fans of the breed as members.
Finally there will be something happening right where we live!
